This is often how it begins

“We spend too much time on …”

Not with a solution. With something in everyday work that does not function well enough.

Follow the problem as it becomes a solution.

Understanding

I do not begin by asking which system you want.

I ask who will use the solution, where the work stops, what is still done manually and which information is difficult to find.

Analysis

The untidy reality is placed on the table.

Workflows, needs and exceptions become visible. Some things should remain. Some can be simplified. And some turn out not to be the real problem at all.

Solution direction

Only now does the solution begin to take shape.

We do not choose functions merely to fill a list. We choose what makes the work clearer, safer and easier.

Build in small steps

Something tangible on the table early.

Rather than waiting a long time for one major reveal, we quickly create something that can be seen, tested and discussed.

Test together

It is not enough for the code to work.

The solution must work for the people who will use it. We therefore test it and adjust the details.

The result

At the end, the table is cleared.

The papers, discussions and many loose ends have done their job. What remains is what the client and users actually need.

The beginning of a collaboration

Is there something that should work more easily?

We do not need to know the solution in advance. We begin by understanding everyday work.
